Chocolate Museum, Koln

Being die-hard cholocate fan, Chocolate Museum in Koln, Germany was one of the must attraction in my Koln to do list. It is situated on the banks of the river Koln. There is an entrance fee for this museum which you need to buy at the entrance.

The museum shows whole history of chocolates. It also has a chocolate preparation machine which acutally vends chocolates at the end of its supplier belt. The whole set up is separated with a glass wall and the visitors can view it.

There a three meter high chocolate fountain which oozes out liquid chocolate from the golden cones. The museum employees dip wafers in the liquid chocolate from the fountain and offer it to the visitors.

There is also room filled with old collection of wall clocks from Germany.

Chatsworth House Cafeteria

On the left handside of the Chatsworth house is a cafeteria which used to be stable for the animals of the house. There still exists some horses in this part of the the House.

In mordern days this place is used by some shops to sell some goodies, food items and cafeteria.

In olden times, it was used as stable to park the horses and carts of house.

There still exists a fountain in midst of this stable which was source of drinking water for the horses parked in the stable.

Chatswoth House

Chatsworth House is a huge countryside house at Chatsworth, Derbyshire. It is must see tourist attraction for all the Jane Austin Fans while visiting Peak District in UK. This is the place where Mr Darcy and Elizabeth send their summer vacation together in the Film 'Pride and Prejudice'. Same house was used in the movie 'The Dutchess'.

The house is surrounded by huge garden famously known as Chatsworth Garden and the famous Cascade fountain. One should plan a full day trip to visit the Chattsworth house and the garden. The garden closes one hour for the visitors and later does the Chatsworth House. So ideally one should first visit the Garden and then enter the House. Like all other famous houses, there are few rooms of the Chatsworth House which are available for visitors.

Near the Exit of the Chatsworth House, there is an exibition which hosts some charaters of the movie Pride and Prejudice.

Saheliyon ki Bari

After Maharana Pratap Memorial, Udaipur we visited the Saheliyon ki Bari. A well maintained garden with lots of flowers and fountains. The Queen of Udaipur visited in evening the garden along with her female friends (aka Saheliya). Hence it is named as Saheliyon ki Bari - Means Garden to spend time with Female friends. The Garden hosts a beautiful marble fountain with elephants carved in marble stone and lotus pool. There is small museum inside the Garden. One has to buy entrance tickets at the Gardens entrance.

Buckingham Fountain

The Buckingham Fountain is one of the huge fountains that I have ever seen and is one of the Chicago's popular attraction. After spending some time near the Sears towers and Chicago Downtown, we moved ahead to visit the the Buckingham fountain. After long walk on sunny day, the small droplets of the water splashing out of the Buckingham Fountain, were a great relief for us. We took some snaps of the fountain and then decided to lie down in the green lawn on the banks of the Lake Michigan.

Nottingham Choupatty

I call the open fountain in from of the Arcade building of the Nottingam Old Market Square as a Nottingham Choupatty for me. In summer, many localites bring their children to this place. You can see many small kids and teenageers running around the sprouting fountains and the free flowing water. The fountain due to its modern design serves purpose of the Water fountain and provides psuedo sea-shore to the people.

Trafalgar Square

From Kings Cross we took Northern Line to Tube station Leicester Square.
From Leicester Square, we took Bakerloo line to Charing Cross Tube station. Then take exit to Trafalgar square. Surprisingly we were the day’s first visitors to Trafalgar Square. We reached there by 8:15 am. We took some snaps of the place. Usually tourists climb the square monument and take snaps of themselves with any of the four lions. Some even climb sit on the lions back.

I got chance to visit Trafalgar Square thrice.
1) Normal Tourist Hours - with Abhis parents
2) Early Birds in Morning - with my parents

3) Completely packed - Diwali at Trafalgar Square

We then moved on to visit London Eye.

Piazza Di Spagna or Spanish steps

Piazza Di Spagna or Spanish steps

Piazza Di Spagna is on top of hill is along the famous Spanish steps. The perfect place to wind up your day. Fontana della Barcaccia is at the foot of the Spanish steps. Its design of a small boat. We took metro and headed back to our hostel near Rome termini. The hostel had hosted today nights dinner and drinks. Hot pasta and wine was perfect dinner to end the day in Rome.
One can find many Bed and Breakfast facilities and hotels around this area.

Fontana Tevori

Fontana Tevori

From Pizza Colona we headed to Fontana Tervi. It is the same fountain in Chalte Chalte Movie where Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherji sit and chat. Its a huge fountain and you will se a lot of people hanging around it. Trying to grab a seat right in middle of the fountains edge to take a memorable snap. We also tried a few times to take the snap of the fountain. You can make wish by tossing a coin in the fountain with your back at it. Ohhh ya one more tip. I had carried Indian one Rupee coin instead of tossing one pound in it. I know I am such a miser. Well all the folk tale says its coin and it need not be European one. It was almost end of the day and we grabed couple of Pizza and Gelato from shop (couple of streets away from fountain so that its cheap) and enjoyed the fountain for some time. Came back to the main road and took train to barberini. Enjoyed one more fountain and headed to metro Spagna

Piazza Novona

Piazza Novona

From Campo-de-Fiori we headed to Piazza Novona.
Its huge open place with two identical fountains on the extreme end. You will get to see a lot of artists and painters either performing their art live or selling the paintings. The area is flooded with different countries embassys.
There is a small sized bus which can take you from Campo-de-Fiori market place to Piazza Novona.
