school day trips

There is so much to write about.
The first trip I remember is my Jr KG where we had been to Picnic spot in Arrey colony in Goregaon. As usual I was given Tiffin box and waterbottle.
I don’t recollect the next one.
However when I was in 2nd standard, our school has planned picnic to national park.
It the fee was Rs 8 and I had told my mother about it.
I was barely 7 years old and learning lessons of life. I was not regular at studies and wanted to everything free of cost. No pains no gains. My aai told me that she is not going to send me to the trip and so I kept quiet. On last day of fees collection, I still reminded her about it. And she left for her office. I used to stay with in crèche in our colony. I went to my neighbour and told her that my aai has forgotten to give me the picnic fees. With help of her entered the home and collected Rs 8 change from basket where usually change was kept. I paid the fees to the teacher.
In evening around four o clock my mother came to school to pay the fees and I told her that they have already been paid. She was surprised. Rs 8 at that time are equivalent to Rs 200 today. I told her that I had picked up the change from the basket with help of aunty next door.
I had to starve that night as part of punishment for stealing money.
Lesson learnt never bank on someone else money.
The trip was good one and the most memorable one. I will never forget that trip ever in my life.

The next one I recollect was ‘Mumbai Darshan’ trip where we were taken to different places in South Mumbai. Science museum was the first stop. Next was Tara pore wala Aquarium at Marine Drive and Gate way of India. This was followed by Rani Jijamata Udyan or precisely Rani chi Baugh at Bhayculla.
